As long as you're not hung up on the aesthetic, which is a bit dated and a bit weather-worn, you won't find a hotel room for as low as these rates this close to the center of the city. You're close to Yorkville, Yonge St. They also have a small gym. Whole Foods is only a few storefronts down. They get busy between April and November so book early if you're going to stay with them. If I was judging this hotel by first impressions alone, it would've done quite well in my books. Yes, it's outdated but the lobby smells like cinnamon buns and offers complimentary coffee - a welcome gesture on a cold winter's day.

The staff are friendly and welcoming and to have a budget hotel in one of the most expensive neighbourhoods in the city, they have an advantageous position. Rooms include a free continental breakfast but there isn't much else by way of amenities. Nice spacious rooms too - granted the decor is even more old-fashioned than the lobby but the exposed brick in most rooms gives the hotel a lot of potential if it chooses to renovate. Here's where it went wrong - the floor I was taken to reeked of weed - I'm not talking a faint smell - the air was thick with it.
